Remote Technical QA Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Execute end-to-end testing for web and desktop applications, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using JavaScript frameworks such as TestComplete or Cypress (approx. 40% of tasks).
• Perform manual testing for functional, regression, and exploratory test scenarios.
• Conduct API testing, validating endpoints and integration flows.
• Setup, configure, and maintain test environments, adapting to frequent changes as required by testing needs.
• Analyze error logs, identify root causes, and provide detailed troubleshooting reports.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand the technical stack and application architecture.
• Integrate tests within CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated regression and deployment quality.
• Track, document, and report defects clearly and concisely.
• Perform database testing, including reading SQL queries to understand schemas, writing SQL queries, and verifying data integrity.
• Participate in technical discussions, providing feedback on potential risks and improvements.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in QA, with at least 1 year of hands-on automation experience.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript-based automation tools, preferably TestComplete and/or Cypress.
• Solid experience with manual testing methodologies and best practices.
• Experience with API testing and understanding of HTTP requests, responses, and JSON/XML formats.
• Ability to read, analyze, and troubleshoot application errors and log files.
• Understanding of web and desktop application architectures and relevant tech stacks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD integration and automated test execution in pipelines.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in SQL - ability to read and write queries, perform database testing, and ensure data integrity.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic hybrid environment.
